[ENTERTAINMENT] Naira Marley – Puta, another street problem?

is not ready to slow down at all, as we’ve all come to know, in these past few weeks since he got out of EFCC custody.
A radicalized street boy, Marley has gone beyond just the music and has harnessed his fan base into a budding brand. Well, you could write “Marlian” on your T-shirt and everyone will know you’re not talking about . Yeah, that big.
His last hit, “Soapy recently got a video that has amassed quite a huge number of views on YouTube and is still banging on the streets, more than ever. Before that he’s made “Opotoyi”, the viral street hit, that spurred many Instagram videos, back then. And, the highly controversial Am I a Yahoo Boy which featured another big street music curator,  Ibile.

Therefore, when it comes to the streets, Naira Marley is officially a major. And since the Zankuwave is, like, here to stay and Naira came to limelight around the same time as Zanku originator, Zlatan Ibile, I guess we’ll be having Naira Marley around for a little while, then. That means, more music for the streets, more dance and more craziness.
But you listen to “Soapy”, watch some dance and then you think you’ve seen it all? You just might wanna have a rethink about that, after this“Puta.” What’s the deal, eh? As people and Marlians anticipate the release of what may soon be one of the most controversial songs that will be released this year (Marley already has two of that, anyway), you can’t help but wonder why some people would rather Marley didn’t release it.
Puta” is a Hispanic word for “whore” or “prostitute”, and the way Naira Marley used it directly on the song’s hook, may well mean there is a problem. In the past, we’ve had guys like  use the word “olosho”, a Yoruba slang that means the same thing, and it most likely sounded awful every time.
But whatever ‘olosho’ line Olamide or whoever pulled can never match this “baby girl you’re a puta” chorus on Marley’s upcoming track. He probably won’t get banned for it, but he could as well start another conversation. That’s what he’s always done anyway, start all kinds of conversations that create buzz for him. How he does it usually doesn’t matter.
